MoneySense magazine was awarded Magazine of the Year at the 34th annual National Magazine Awards in Toronto last night.
MoneySense was honoured by the judges for offering “information and inspiration” to Canadian families who need to manage their own investing and retirement.
MoneySense also won two other writing awards. Sarah Efron and Phil Froats won Gold in the category of Service: Personal Finance and Business for The Charity 100: Where is your money going? The story was an exhaustive investigation into Canada’s top charities and what percentage of contributions actually goes to the core charitable mandate.
MoneySense also won Silver in the same category for Julie Cazzin’s article Avoiding the family feud, a story on how to avoid family turmoil when confronted with the need to sell off the family cottage.
Our sister publication Maclean’s was also a winner on Friday night, securing the Digital Magazine of the year award.
