Is it still worthwhile to hold an open house if you’re selling your home? Some argue no. What with the proliferation of the Internet, there are so many online sites and apps that would-be buyers not only find homes for sale, but can easily book appointments and view pictures, all with the click of a mouse or a swipe of a finger.
These days, the biggest argument against doing an open house is that it’s actually far more beneficial to the listing realtor, than to you, the seller.
Still, there are advantages to holding an open house as former Deputy Editor, Sarah Efron points out. (And if you’re a prospective buyer you should definitely consider going to every open house when shopping for a home.)
