I wouldn’t want to be put in the situation you’ve been through, that’s probably part of the reason why I got a newly constructed built home instead of getting an older home to remodel. I probably would have dealt with it differently though being not much of a handyman myself, I’ll have it checked by professional plumbing service providers. Either way, some leaks and those that appear to be minor problems might end up being bigger than what it originally looked like so not taking my chances and will let professionals repair it and get a thorough inspection of parts for possible repair/replacement as well.
Could this article be updated with 2020 estimates? Its extremely helpful!

Good well researched fact based article. Well done. Agree an update would be useful. Given demographics, I’d also be interested in a view of what condo owners should expect in buildings of various vintages.
Would you recommend a Home Protection/Appliance Plan for homeowners who are not DIYers or living with contractors & construction workers ? Searching for the highly rated 3 in Ontario actually led me to your article.

If you’re looking at these in 2023, you probably need to double a lot of the values. Good luck home owners!
Agree that an update would be awesome! After more than a decade I imagine a lot of costs have increased.
