Good Evening,
Just reading your article: https://www.moneysense.ca/save/taxes/how-to-invest-your-money-in-canada-us-citizen/
With respect to the TFSA and IRS tax filings, we see much conversation regarding the affect(s) of a mutual fund, but what we don’t see or know, is how the Segregated Funds are treated, for someone who was born in Canada and holds Dual Citizenship as an American, due to their immediate parent, being an American Citizen.
Any information on how this is treated and whether or not Dual citizens can hold a TFSA, while invested within a Segregated Fund, would be greatly appreciated. We live and operate in a major border town and understanding this would be very helpful to us.
Take Care,
Shaun
