I retired on July 1, 2019. I received $20K defined benefit pension from my employer for the six months I was retired. I also received CPP and OAS. My wife did not work in 2019. Am I better off splitting my defined benefit pension with her or claiming her as a dependent? For some reason Turbo Tax would not let me do the dependent option.

I have been splitting my DB with my wife since retirement. Also, have used Turbo Tax since it was first offered. I just trial and error the ratios of splitting to get the best result. Never thought about the dependent option.
