Is early retirement a realistic goal for most people?
Some financial independence bloggers promote the idea that less work equals more happiness, which may not be true for you. “Semi-retirement” may be more enjoyable and achievable.

Ok boomer.
Jonathon, I’m honored that you shared my post. FIRE is a fascinating topic and one in which all readers should consider the source and their motivations behind their words. That said, the movement has a lot to teach folks who are working toward retirement, especially those who can apply some of the tactics to offset a “late start” in their retirement savings. Thanks again for sharing my work, I’m humbly honored.
Just to clarify, these FIRE supporters actually are “working” for themselves by selling their time and words of “wisdom” after they retire from a traditional sort of job. Sort of like you Jonathon, right? 😉 Not self-published, but still you generate revenue through articles and books (I think you provided a link to almost all of them, lol). Not in your 30’s but you know what they say, you are only as old as you feel. And who knows, maybe they feel older than they are?
Work until we can’t work. Develop wealth anytime we have the chance. Wealth is the true pleasure. No retirement in every kind whatsoever is fun without wealth.
