Canadian employment rates are on the rebound, with 21,000 jobs created in February alone, according to TD Bank Financial Group.
The new positions, the majority of which are in the public sector, brought the nation’s unemployment rate down to 8.2% from 8.3% earlier in the month.
Despite these gains, some Canadians remain fearful that focusing solely on public sector job creation isn’t sustainable. This area is expected to bear the brunt of government cutbacks this year.
