Expect to see fewer defined-benefit employer sponsored pension plans in the years to come. Some 12% of employers who offer this traditional variety of plan expect to phase them out in favour of less generous defined-contribution plans in the next two to five years, an RBC Investor Services poll found. Canadians aren’t as happy with their discount brokerages as Americans are with theirs, according to J.D. Power and Associates’ annual poll. Overall, investor satisfaction with discount brokerage firms in this country averages 700 (on a 1,000-point scale), an increase of 21 points from 2011. For the fourth year in a row, Disnat took top honours, followed by BMO InvestorLine and National Bank Direct Brokerage. Here’s a snapshot of the finding:
