Classes to begin in September.
The Ontario government will introduce new classes in September for children in grades 4 through 12 aimed at teaching them how to manage their money.
The new program—funded partly by the Ontario Securities Commission—comes after several studies identified low levels of financial literacy among Canadian students.
Federal Finance Minister Jim Flaherty has identified financial literacy as an important issue for the economy as a whole, particularly in the wake of the global financial crisis.
