The midnight tonight (April 30) deadline is only crucial if you owe taxes (interest starts accumulating May 1). If you’re not sure, it’s best to file on-time. Hey, you might even qualify for a refund! Paper forms can be picked up at your local post office or you can use any of these free, online, CRA NETFILE-compatible tax software programs and still be done in time for NHL playoff action. Four months into the year, it appears Canadians are having trouble living up to their New Year’s resolution to pay down debt.
