Standard text messaging rates apply
TD Bank Group announced the launch of SMS customer service in Canada on Friday. The service allows customers to text “TDHELP” (834357) from their smartphone between the hours of 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. EST, daily.
“Whether it’s a general question about a banking product, a branch location or EasyWeb, or they just need a quick phone number, TD customers can now reach a live TD agent via text,” TD’s Wendy Arnott said in a press release.
As for security, the bank says it will never ask customers for personal or confidential information via text.
Customers with questions that require an in-person response will be directed to the TD toll-free customer service line though standard text messaging rates will apply to initial SMS inquiries.
