Was Brian an American or a Cdn citizen? Would the treatment be the same for either given the Int’l agreements in place?
I am a Canadian residing in USA. I applied for and got OAS while living in USA, but was told because I was not a resident of USA, I had sign a paper and was deducted 300$ a month… i have been trying to find the info anywhere on the OAS website that this was correct! I have read that OAS does not affect my SS but not being a resident any longer of Canada, seems to affect my OAS. Was the correct to loose the 300$. Does receiving OAS in any way affect my SS benefits?
Can non-resident Canadians contribute to CPP while living overseas?

I was born in Canada in 1955 and left at age 31 1/2 to move with my American husband to the USA in 1987. I was not eligible to work for six months until I got my green card. I became an American Citizen in 2004. Am I eligible to collect CPP and OAS from Canada?
