As residents will attest, it’s a modernized neighbourhood but with the look and feel of a time that was much simpler.
Fort Langley is known for its early 1900s feel, complete with Victorian homes and horse-drawn buggies. As a result, this community is an extremely popular weekend destination spot and residents take a great deal of pride in their homes. At the same time, city officials keep strict development and renovation guidelines.

Fort Langley is also surrounded by agricultural land and there are no plans to develop it anytime soon, which is great news for current homeowners and anyone who wants to live in a small town with access to big city amenities.
The neighbourhood draws in families who appreciate excellent schools, entertainment options and culture. Investors often search here for excellent deals on homes that need slight updating or renovations and earn a great return on investment. Young professionals are drawn to the area for its peaceful atmosphere and short commute times to nearby cities for work.
Buyers will find a variety of home styles and sizes in Fort Langley, ranging from three-bedroom bungalows to six-bedroom farmhouses. Some feature large and private yards and all have access to neighbourhood amenities as well as the services offered in the larger, Langley area.

Willoughby Heights is both a beautiful and bustling Langley neighbourhood that is perfect for commuters and those who require quick access to major highways. The community has the Trans-Canada Highway to the north and the Fraser Highway to the south.
As a more established neighbourhood in Langley’s west end, Willoughby Heights offers a blend of single-family homes, townhouses, condos and apartments. Houses tend to be modestly priced making it the perfect neighbourhood for young professionals, families and real estate investors. Just over 20% of the area’s residents are renters.
Public transit commuters also like this neighbourhood, as there are a number of TransLink bus routes. But most residents rely on a car and use the fastest and easiest route, the Trans-Canada Highway, in order to get in and out of this community.

If you’re interested in the Langley area, yet crave a bit of space and privacy, check out the Otter District. Because the area is so rural and feels very private, many homebuyers end up falling in love with the wide-open space and the sense of serenity and peace they get here. (Keep in mind, local realtors told us that investors really love the potential in some of the older homes in this community, and have a standing order to be alerted to any homes for sale that meet those needs.)
With the area laid out in a grid system, it’s easy to navigate and get around and even easier to get in and out of the community with quick access to the Trans-Canada Highway.
Being a more remote community, the Otter District doesn’t have a large retail centre, but the Willowbrook Shopping Centre, with its 150 retail stores and restaurants, is close by for shopping.
