Earn cash the next time you check your phone with these apps
There are plenty of mobile apps out there that help you spend your money wisely, but there are only a select few that will actually pay you to use them. Here are three of the most popular apps that put money in your pocket.
Checkout 51
Redeem virtual coupons and earn cash back on groceries you would buy anyway with Checkout 51. Shop as normal at your favourite food store but instead of tossing your receipt, snap a photo of it and upload it to the app to collect your cash in your virtual account. Once your account reaches $20, Checkout 51 will mail you a cheque. No questions asked. New cash-back offers are listed each week and your account balance will not expire. The best part is you’ll never clip coupons again and there’s no need to fumble with your phone at the cashier.
Foap
Use photos already sitting in your phone’s camera roll to make money with Foap. If you enjoy taking photos of anything from your breakfast to a puppy at the park, you can sell them to thousands of companies around the world and receive $5 per photo sold. Upload as many photos via Foap as you want. Once a photo is sold, the money goes directly into your PayPal account. For the keen mobile photographer, photo missions are offered where big brands can pay you hundreds of dollars for a photo.
Pact
Earn cash after working out with Pact, an app that challenges you to maintain a healthy lifestyle in return for real cash. Commit to one or all three types of pacts: the gym pact, the veggie pact or the food logging pact. Choose the number of days you will keep the pact throughout the week and the amount you’ll be deducted if you miss a day. The minimum deductible fee is $5. If you meet your pact, you get cash for each day committed, and it’s paid for by members of the Pact community who didn’t meet their pact for the week. If you don’t make up for a missed pact, you owe Pact the amount of money you agreed on and it will multiply the more days you neglect to complete it so tread carefully.
