The Great White North is the top travel destination country for 2017, according to Lonely Planet’s latest Best in Travel guide.
In its 150th year, our country has a lot to offer travellers and its citizens including free national park access and plenty of events. (Check out the beautiful Gwaii Haanas National Park.) The experts at Lonely Planet say that the second-largest country in the world has “a reputation for inclusiveness and impeccable politeness.” Why, thank you kindly!
But we say that Canada is more than just a fun place to visit. For those who decide to stick around, check out our picks for the Best Places to Live in Canada.
Our number one best city to live in is Ottawa, which will also be host to a massive 150th year celebration that will have many events and festivities lined up in the months leading to July 1. Whether you’re just visiting Canada or live in another part of the country, it may be time to book a trip to the capital city. Maybe you’ll decide to stay, swayed by its rich culture, scenic Rideau Canal views and the high-paying jobs on offer.
